Welcome to JPS Foundation.

Haiti is an island located in the heart of the Caribbean, mostly known as Hispaniola. It shares borders with the Dominican Republic, but it is the poorer of the two. About 50% of the population is illiterate. Early childhood and primary education in Haiti is not subsidized by the government, which makes it very difficult for poor families to send their children to school.

The cost of educating a child can be as little as $20 a year in some rural communities. Please help us increase the number of children attending primary schooling.

These pictures are from a classroom in Gros-Cheval, Fond-Verrettes, Haiti. You can clearly see this is not an adequate or a safe facility for children to learn.
